![]() ![]() I don't need endless screens to access to tell me where I am driving, or to connect me to a telephone that I should not be using while driving, whether connected to my car, or not. I would prefer to use my own eyes to see - not cameras, some of which, due to software glitches, can blank out unexpectedly or have several second delays. I don't want or need "Apple Car Play" or Sirius, or anything like that. ![]() ![]() I still have not decided on a new vehicle, and I know that even if I chose a "non-lemon" by some miracle, I will still face the most incredibly difficult time getting used to all of the cameras and safety features that I never wanted or asked to have. (Sort of like my own "Princess and the Pea" moment.) Interestingly, there was a defect in the welding of the A pillars of the then, brand new, Ascent model, and I would bet that welding insufficiency was what I felt when I drove it. I vastly preferred the feel of the Forrester. Then, I test drove a Forrester, and felt it was manufactured like a tank. When the Ascent was first introduced, I test drove one, only to feel it felt like a poorly put together jalopy. ![]() I would love for it to have leather seats and also a KEY rather than a key fob and a push button start, but I am already likely too late to the game to find one still manufactured with a key ignition.įunny you mentioned the Subaru Ascent and the Subaru Forrester. First, congratulations on your new vehicle! I am finding it nearly impossible to select a new car, considering all of the defects/recalls/problems inherent in these insanely mechanized/computerized/gadgetized-to-the-hilt vehicles for sale these days.Īll I want and need is a car that gets me from Point A to Point B, that has fog lights and a radio. ![]()
